Welcome to the Tween Scene!
This is a space for tweens to see what's happening on the scene. What is a tween, you ask? Great question! A tween is anyone in grades 6th through 8th or ages 9 through 12.
Does that include you? Awesome! Stick around, have some fun, and check back here often for updates on what's going on in the library.
We are so glad you're here!

Meet the Tween Service Coordinator
Hello there! My name is Katie Boren and I am the new Tween Services Coordinator here at the library. You may recognize me already because I have been around the library before now. I was the Intern last summer of 2019. Since then, I have had other jobs, but I am thrilled to be back at the library full-time now! In addition to a new job, I am currently working on my Master’s of Science degree at UTK in Information Sciences. This is a fancy term for a Librarian Degree. After completing my Bachelor’s in English Literature from Tennessee Tech University and working in their library for some time, I decided that I wanted to become a Librarian!
As you may guess, I love to read. I also enjoy musical theatre, watching Netflix, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and hiking around Chattanooga with friends. I absolutely love giraffes and I have an awesome fish tank! When it comes to books, some of my favorites are the Harry Potter series, The Chronicles of Narnia, the Caraval series, and The Great Gatsby. I enjoy discussing books, movies, and tv shows with people!
I am super pumped to be working with the Tweens at the library! I am looking forward to getting to know you all and what your interests are so that we can come up with some cool ideas for the library together. I have a couple of ideas but I am definitely going to need your help.
If you have any questions, suggestions or would like to contact me, please email email@example.com. I can’t wait to meet you all and get started on new things!
