Community Artists in Residence Program

We are thrilled to announce the return of our Community Artists in Residence Program! Once again the library will be celebrating our Summer Reading Program with a community art exhibit on view throughout the Catoosa County Library for the Summer of 2023. All ages are invited to join in the fun!

Guidelines for Art Entries

This exhibition is designed to coincide with our Summer Reading Program theme "All Together Now." We are looking for artists to create and submit artwork in any medium within reason to reflect the attributes of this Summer's theme. These submissions could be 2 or 3-dimensional in nature and can reflect the theme in a literal or abstract form. We are looking forward to seeing what you create!

How to Participate:

Step 1 - Choose a book that reflects the Summer Reading Theme "All Together Now."

Step 2 - Create art based on your chosen book.

Step 3 - Submit your art to the library from now until Monday, May 15, 2023

Submission Process

Please bring your artwork to the library and check in at the front desk. All participating artists will be required to submit an Art Exhibition Agreement form we will provide. This form details the artist's contact information, and entry information, such as title, medium, and book reference for each work. For artists under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian will need to be present and sign the Art Exhibition Agreement.

All submissions will be reviewed by Sarah Holmes, Director of the Catoosa County Library. Upon acceptance, a confirmation email will be sent to all participants with exhibition details and information on the rat retrieval process in August.

Save the Date

The Opening Reception for our Community Artists will be held Thursday evening on June 1, 2023. Come out to support our artists as we celebrate their work and open this exhibit!
