This month we will be making Cherry Almond Tarts! These sweet confections are a mini bakewell, which is a type of shortcrust pastry. This recipe dates back to the 19th century, when it was first made by an innkeeper in Derbyshire, England. They are a perfect little snack. Enjoy!! Each take-home kit includes the recipe, one ingredient from the recipe (almond extract), cultural information about England, and other goodies.

Meet the Adult Coordinator

Meet Hannah! She joined the Catoosa County Library in November of 2022 and is so excited to be the Adult Coordinator.

She has a master's degree in Library and Information Science and a bachelor's degree in English Literature. Basically, she loves books!! She has worked in public libraries since 2017 and hopes to use everything she has learned to bring the best programming to the age 18+ community of Catoosa County.

At the library you can find her either in the stacks, planning & hosting new programs, or building fun displays. At home, she loves curling up with a good book, putting together a puzzle, or watching a cozy movie. She has lived all over the country but is really loving the mountain walks and river trips that our area provides.

Fun facts about Hannah: she has two cats, an undying love for all things fantastical and spooky (Halloween is her favorite holiday), and very proudly identifies as a geek. On your next trip to the library, wave hello or strike up a conversation about the last great book you read- she would love to meet you!
