Meet the Adult Program Coordinator

Hello! My name is Laura. I joined the Catoosa County Library in Ringgold as a part-time Library Assistant in August 2020 (during the COVID-19 pandemic!) and very recently transitioned into Adult Programming. I previously worked in higher education before switching gears into library work. I studied Communications at Middle Georgia State University and later completed my Master’s in Education in Library Media from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga. I am originally from Macon, Ga (about 45 minutes south of Atlanta) but I love being in the Ringgold/Chattanooga area.

Fun facts about me: I was married on a baseball field in May 2016 - Luther Williams Field which is the second oldest Minor League baseball park in the US. We held our reception at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and served a mixture of Southern (think chicken & waffles!) and ballpark foods (think nacho fountain!). I have two senior rescue dogs, Georgia (a boxer-bulldog mix) and Avery (a Jack Russell Terrier). My first job out of college was working for a small community college library in Warner Robins, Ga. It was strictly an "e-library" that did not house any hard copy books. I love to watch Atlanta Braves baseball, try out new restaurants, go to antique stores with my mom, bake, walk my dogs at the park, watch Discovery+ and sit on the beach with a good book.

I am happy to be a part of the Catoosa County Library!
